Postdoctoral Research Associate

Aylon Manor is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Governance and Markets. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, an MA in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University, and a BA in Philosophy from Hebrew University. His research aims to compare existing and possible institutional configurations in moral and epistemic terms, focusing particularly on the meaning and justification of democracy and on the prospects and challenges of polycentric governance. Beyond his academic pursuits, Aylon enjoys playing chess and cherishing moments with his three children.

Parties struggle to balance policy expertise with electoral considerations, thereby creating challenges for effective governance. Reimagining political parties as knowledge hubs—organizations that systematically gather, assess, and refine information—offers a promising pathway to improving democratic decision-making without requiring major constitutional changes.
