Golan Shaharย is a Professor of Clinical-Health Psychology, Zlotowsky Chair of Neuropsychology, Affiliated Professor of Public Health at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and Adjunct Professor of Child and Adult Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. His research focuses on mental and physical health across the life span, integrating individual-level with population-level health outcomes.
An integrative clinician-theorist, Shahar has developed and applied models of complex psychopathology and multilayered interventions in his practice with adolescents and young adults, and with individuals coping with chronic illness across the life span. He is an active creative writer whose essays and poetry explore illness and psychological suffering as a form of public engagement and knowledge translation.
