Levy Nys

Student Research Associate

Levy Nys (all pronouns), born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, is currently pursuing their Bachelor’s of Philosophy in Politics and Philosophy, with a triple minor in Law, Criminal Justice, & Society, Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies, and Korean, at the University of Pittsburgh. They are a student of the Frederick Honors College and have been recognized as a Chancellor’s Scholar with a full-ride scholarship. They are currently preparing to apply to law school to obtain their JD.

At Pitt, they have pursued research with a particular focus on the intersections of law, philosophy, feminist and gender theory, and both international and domestic politics. During the 2024 election cycle, they worked with nonprofit Project 26 to register nearly 1,700 students to vote on Pitt’s campus. In 2025, they served as a TA at Pitt’s Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies department, and are now pursuing their interest in research at CGM at Pitt’s School for Public and International Affairs.

In their free time, they can be found practicing with their dance teams at Carnegie Mellon and Chatham Universities, creating visual art as Art Director of their magazine, and showing off their favorite places in Pittsburgh to their friends and colleagues from out of town.
