Tinto Thalonikkara Devassy

Student Research Associate

Tinto is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA), specializing in Public and Nonprofit Management. He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MPhil in Philosophy, all specializing in social-political philosophy, and achieved first ranks at his universities for his MA and MPhil. His academic journey also includes being awarded an international scholarship to attend the prestigious “Greek Studies on Site” Summer School in Athens, Greece, where he deepened his understanding of classical philosophy and its application to modern governance.

Tinto has extensive experience in research, teaching, and administration, gained during his tenure as a researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, India, conducting literature reviews, publishing scholarly works, and carrying out teaching assistantship and administrative responsibilities. Tinto’s scholarly work is evolving, with several journal articles currently under different stages of publication, showcasing his deep engagement with research in social-political philosophy.  Passionate about global challenges and solutions, Tinto is preparing for a meaningful career in international governance and policymaking, focusing on creating effective and inclusive strategies for global development.

At GSPIA, he seeks to contribute to the Center for Governance and Markets (CGM) through research, administrative support, and communication efforts, building expertise for his future role as a leader in international policy.
